This Privacy Policy explains what information LendedIt collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We are committed to handling personal data responsibly and transparently.

1. Information we collect

• Account and contact information: name, email address, phone number, profile details and contact information you choose to provide.
• Verification information: Stripe Identity processes government ID and selfie information used for identity verification. LendedIt stores the verification outcome and may receive verified attributes needed for marketplace safety. Vehicle-hire licence details, where required, are collected through LendedIt for the relevant booking and are not collected by the ChatGPT plugin.
• Listings, bookings and purchases: listings, enquiries, bookings, appointment details, purchases, reviews, comments, favourites and related transaction records.
• Messages and user content: marketplace messages, support requests, photos, videos, documents and other content you choose to upload or send.
• Payment information: payment details are processed by payment partners such as Stripe or Apple. LendedIt does not store full payment-card numbers.
• Search, location and interaction data: searches, listing views, taps, saves and other interactions used to operate and improve the marketplace. Precise location is used only when permission is granted or a precise address is provided for a marketplace purpose.
• Device and usage information: account or device identifiers, push-notification registration data, app activity and technical information used for security, reliability and service analytics.

2. How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, operate the marketplace, provide search and personalised discovery, process bookings and payouts, verify identities, prevent fraud, provide support, comply with legal obligations and measure how LendedIt features perform.

3. Sharing information

We share information with another marketplace member only where needed for the service being used. We also use service providers including payment, identity-verification, hosting, communications and AI providers. They process data for the contracted service and are required to protect it. We do not sell personal information or share LendedIt user data with data brokers for cross-app or cross-site tracking.

4. Bleu AI and the ChatGPT plugin

Bleu and the LendedIt ChatGPT plugin use OpenAI as an external AI service provider. Information is shared only as needed for the requested feature and permissions granted. The ChatGPT plugin can search public marketplace data and, after account authorization, access permitted LendedIt account scopes. It does not collect full payment-card details or government-issued ID numbers. Card entry takes place on Stripe-hosted pages and any required identity or driver-licence step is completed directly on LendedIt or its verification provider.

You can decline or withdraw optional AI sharing permissions for Bleu without losing access to the core marketplace. OpenAI processes information according to its applicable service terms and retention controls; information may be processed outside the UK.

5. Your privacy choices and rights

• Access, update or correct profile information in account settings.
• Control push-notification channels and withdraw marketing consent.
• Control location access through device settings.
• Decline or withdraw optional Bleu AI sharing permission.
• Request a copy of your data from Settings → Privacy & Data.
• Initiate account deletion from Settings → Privacy & Data, subject to information that must be retained for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, payment or dispute obligations.

6. Data security

We use technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal data. No system is completely secure, so users should use a strong password and available account-security features.

7. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, while an account or transaction is active, and for any additional period required for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution obligations.
